Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Thursday the 7th March is World Book Day. A themed lunch menu is also coming home so please return as soon as possible as this replaces our usual menu for that day.
We will be celebrating this in school as part of an exciting storytelling week and so we’d like the children to come to school dressed as a character from a book. If they can bring the book with them too, that’d be great, but don’t worry if not!
Please note that Bumblebee class are swimming in the afternoon so their costumes need to be simple enough for them to change in and out of and no face paints please either.
Thank you for your support with this and we look forward to having a brilliant day and a wonderful week.

Dear Parents/Carers,
Today we have launched a whole school reading challenge. The children have found out all about the challenge in assembly today and are very excited to take part.
Every time your child reads to you at home it will be marked onto their personal book mark, which will be displayed in their classroom. Once your child has filled the bookmark they will receive a reading award in the form of a badge that they can wear proudly on their school uniform. The more your child reads the more badges they can earn starting with a bronze, then silver and gold, leading to a reader’s trophy.
We would greatly appreciate your support in listening to your child read as often as possible and to record this in their reading diary.
Thank you for your support, we are looking forward to awarding the first bronze badges.
Happy reading!
Yours sincerely,
The Staff at East Brent C of E Academy
