Sport Premium Grant

February 2019 update

 

Over the last couple of months our Year 3 & 4 children have participated in a number of Sports Festivals with other First Schools in the area, including Football, Cross-country, Gymnastics and Multiskills.

 

The children have represented the school really well and demonstrated great enthusiasm and teamwork in all activities.

Thursday 18th October 2018: Tag Rugby

Children from Year 3 and 4 had competed in the Tag Rugby Tournament at Hugh Sexey C of E Middle School. After working as a team and showing excellent skills they had managed to secure 4th position. Well done to all children!

Monday 15th - 19th October 2018 Health Week
East Brent C of E Academy have been keeping fit and staying healthy during our annual Health Week. We have been taking part in a wake and shake every morning, running the Golden Mile, KS1 have taken part in a Cheerobics lesson, KS2 had badminton lessons, the children had taken part in 'Scoot to School' and they won certificates for the healthiest lunchbox. We had a fantastic week and the children have learned a lot about healthy living and Mental Health. Here are some photos:

Monday 2nd July 2018 - KS1 Cricket at Lympsham C of E Academy
In the afternoon, KS1 had the opportunity to explore cricket at Lympsham C of E Academy. The children had learned new techniques, worked as a team and developed their cricket skills. Well done everyone!
Monday 2nd July 2018 - Sports for Champion Robert Mitchell
Today, the whole school had a visit from Sports for Champion Robert Mitchell who took the children through their skills and paces during a circuit challenge.  We learned about healthy living, healthy eating and the four key elements associated with success: teamwork, responsibility, communication and creativity. The children had an brilliant time and we raised an astonishing £496.48! 
Wednesday 27th June - Sports Day
What a fantastic effort from all of our children during Sports Day. The sun was out but our children had rest in the shade and worked really hard in all of their house groups. Well done all!
Monday 25th - 29th June 2018 Health Week
East Brent C of E Academy have been getting active and staying healthy during our annual Health Week. We have been taking part in a wake and shake every morning, learning about health in our lessons, KS1 had taken part in a Zumba lesson, the whole school had golf lessons and we won certificates for a healthy lunchbox.  We had an amazing week and the children have learned a lot about healthy living. Wednesday 20th June 2018 - Swimming Gala

Congratulations to our superb Year 3 and 4 swimming superstars! The team had secured 1st prize in the Hugh Sexey C of E Middle School Swimming Gala. Well done to all!

Wednesday 16th May 2018 - Year 2 Multi skills
Year 2 had a brilliant time at Huey Sexey C of E Middle School. They worked hard as a team and learned different skills in a variety of sports. Well done year 2!
Friday 4th May 2018 - Scoot to school

 

Scoot to School day was a big success! All staff would like to thank everyone for their support in promoting a greener, healthier environment. We hope you enjoyed using our new scooter pod! Thank you to all who designed such wonderful promotional posters too.

Our sporty non-uniform day raised a grand total of £66.60

Thursday 15th March 2018 - Netball tournament.

Children from Year 3 and 4 had competed in the Netball Tournament at Hugh Sexey C of E Middle School. After working as a team and showing excellent skills they had manged to secure 1st position. Well done to all children and what a fantastic achievement!

Recently, our children from year 3 and 4 had competed in a Football Tournament at Hugh Sexey C of E Middle School. All of the children had worked extremely hard and showed exceptional skills whilst demonstrating brilliant teamwork. Well done to everyone!
